Q: How do I keep calcium from building up in my irrigation lines?

A: First of all you should be testing your irrigation water so that you are aware of the pH and the carbonate levels. If the water has high pH and/or calcium levels you should be adding nitric acid to your irrigation water. How much is dependent upon your particular situation. The testing lab. should be able to give you some recommendations.

In addition you should never be mixing incompatible fertilizers i.e. anytime you mix calcium and phosphorus together you will get a deposit that will clog your lines.
