“Talent” is the theme of Plantarium 2010 Print

Plantarium, one of the most important annual horticultural trade shows in The Netherlands has chosen the theme of “Talent” for its 2010 event. Talent is regarded as valuable and suggests the notions of beautiful, useful, and new. With its usual line-up of new initiatives, new developments and new introductions, Plantarium 2010 will show off the many talents of the nursery sector.


Plantarium 2010 will also call attention to another special talent, namely that of the plant itself. The show will challenge the participants to the highlight the talents of their plants – what is their value, what makes them distinctive? What's the story behind the plant? In other words, Plantarium is looking for the X-factor.

A prominent panel of experts, including representatives from gardening magazines, private gardens and garden centers, will evaluate the entries. Judging crieteria will include creative application, health of the plants, and their role in functional green and green innovation.

Colour Your Life Award


For the first time this year, exhibitors will have the ability to participate in the new Colour Your Life award, allowing the nursery industry to also participate in this exciting new promotional program that is geared to helping retailers sell more plants. The participating exhibitors will be required to tell the story behind the plant: its breeding history, its innovative qualities, its value to the environment, it ornamental appeal and more. Nominees will all benefit from the surplus of media coverage this award is sure to generate.
