4 Seasons Garden Center Williston, Vermont — 'Fresh As A Daisy' Print

The display table, embellished to look like a wagon being pulled by the tractor, showcased the special daisy offer. Located at the entrance to the garden center, one couldn't come or go without being enticed.Congratulations to 4 Seasons Garden Center of Willison, Vermont for their Top Ten award-winning submission in the 2007 Perennials Marketing Contest sponsored by Plant Publicity Holland and the Perennial Plant Association.

It was both the simplicity and whimsy of the submission that attracted the eye of the judges. After all, the 'garden center experience' should be fun as well as purposeful.

Rod Cain, Media Designer for the garden center explained, "The 'Fresh as a Daisy' theme celebrates this perennial favorite which represents an appreciation for all things simple, clean and unpretentious - much like the character of our store."

In order to maximize visibility and those important impulse purchases, the display was installed at the front entrance to 4 Seasons, where an old tractor is a permanent fixture. The display table, artfully framed in barn board with wheels attached to the legs, gave the appearance of an old cart being pulled by the tractor.

As for plant material, Leucanthemum Shasta Daisy, 'Becky' and 'Snowcap' were the shining stars on the cart. 4 Seasons felt that the strongest visual impact would be made by showcasing only two cultivars of one genus. Not only did this simplify the 'Fresh as a Daisy' message, but also clearly demonstrated the impact that a massed grouping of these flowers could make.

Key selling points whimsically displayed on larger-than-life daisy leaves.
Signage, a key component to a good display was also as simple as could be. The grabber: Buy 2 Get 1 Free. The sale closer, three positive statements: Blooms all Summer, Perfect for Cutting and The Farmer's Favorite.

Well done 4 Seasons! We have no doubt that your immediate catchment area was abloom with daisies as far as the eye could see.
